Not only is Hayao Miyazaki, the grand master of highly acclaimed anime movies, he’s also one of the most generous people in Japan – giving back to the Japanese community.
This time he’s donated a total of 300 million yen (around $2.4 million) for the construction of an interaction center for children in a park situated in Kumejima, Okinawa.
The interaction center will count with 10,000 square meters of the park itself and will take 2 years to be built. The objective of the project is to make a safe place for social interaction to all the children and families affected by the nuclear accident of Fukushima.
