Huge arcade and pinball sale this weekend in Adelaide

Adelaide of all places seems poised to host an impressive car park sale of arcade PCBs, arcade cabinets, pinball machines, memorabilia, skilltesters and vending machines this Saturday, 20 February, from 9am. The previous site of SA’s beloved GameRoom Essentials at Cavan Road will have its car park transformed to host a number of vendors loaded with goodies to sell off to owners and enthusiasts alike according to a message that hit their news feed on Facebook, with more info outlined on Gumtree.

Speaking with John, the organiser of the event on Gumtree, this will be a strict cash and carry affair with each vendor independently managing their gear for sale. Both working and non-working cabs, PCBs and pinball machines will be on display and ready for purchase, with the aim for vendors to mark out the working vs parts or project gear so you can pick accordingly. Feedback has been extremely positive so soon after announcing the event, with interest crossing the border with arcade and pinball enthusiasts fans getting in touch for more info.

Speaking from the heart, John’s coming from over 20 years of activity within the local coin-op space and has a great passion for this sale. “This may be one of those once in a lifetime events”, John shared with us, going on to say that “it’s great to see that people are still interested in the preservation of the coin-op”.

The sale is being held at 51A Cavan Road, Gepps Cross, SA 5094. The gates will be opening for the public from 9am and at this stage they’re aiming for the event to be finished up by around 1-2pm. Parking will be limited and the current rush of interest suggests a healthy crowd, so be ready with your trailers, vans or what-not.

Danny Daly from GameRoom Essentials has also posted a few images to their Facebook feed, confirming with us that the below photo is just one of the rooms of gear they’ll be shifting for the event and that there will be more to come:

I’ll be down there to take photos and post a recap of the events of the morning, and will hopefully have a few interesting pieces to bring home with me too!

Many thanks to the organiser of the event, John, as well as Danny from GameRoom Essentials for sharing their insights and a few photos with us this morning. We may well get access to some more photos prior to the event, so watch out for more info on the site and via our Facebook and Twitter sites.
