Presented by the Japan Foundation, this year’s Japanese Film Festival kicks off in Australia starting with Canberra this month then makes its way to other major cities, as well as regional cities across the country. Dates for major cities are:
CANBERRA – 14 to 18 October 2015 at Capital Cinemas, Manuka Early
BRISBANE – 21 to 25 October 2015 at Event Cinemas Brisbane City Myer Centre
PERTH – 28 October to 1 November 2015 at Hoyts Carousel & Hoyts Millennium
ADELAIDE – 30 October to 1 November / 6 to 8 November 2015 at Mercury Cinema
SYDNEY – 5 to 15 November 2015 at Event Cinemas George Street & Event Cinemas Parramatta
MELBOURNE – 26 November to 6 December 2015 at Hoyts Melbourne Central & ACMI Cinemas
In addition to the main screenings, there is also the JFF Mini visiting Bunbury, Cairns, Hobart and Townsville, and the JFF Classics screening classic Japanese Cinema in Sydney and Melbourne. The festival covers both live action and animated films, so there’s something for everyone!

Some select titles include Assassination Classroom, Yakuza Apocolypse, Princess Jellyfish, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie and The Case of Hana & Alice.
