GANGSTA Studio Manglobe Closes, Files For Bankruptcy

Reported by japanese industry site animeanime.biz along with Kotaku and AnimeNewsNetwork among others, anime studio Manglobe have filed for bankruptcy in Japan after the insolvent studio was unable to find a way to continue business and manage debts. Their website, Manglobe.net, has been taken offline.

Manglobe were responsible for this last seasons GANGSTA, along with other well loved hits like Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy and The World God Only Knows. The bankruptcy filing also throws the November release of their upcoming movie Genocidal Organ into some doubt, as it is unknown if production was completed, though it is likely the film will be picked up by another studio.
